A family of four on three HelloFresh recipes a week pays $160 to $240 before shipping. The convenience is real; the markup is for picking, packing and shipping. Agent Chef keeps the picking and hands the shipping to your regular store.
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor… checks in once or twice a day, asks Agent Chef what's due, writes the recipes, sends the messages, fills the cart.
Remembers everything: preferences, pantry, ballots, votes, feedback, ratings, orders. Decides what happens next. Serves the vote pages.
Each person gets a personal link. No app, no account: tap, vote for five, add a comment, rate last week's dinner.
Your assistant proposes ten real recipes a week that fit your preferences and time budget, with photos, ingredients and steps. If you loved a HelloFresh recipe, tell it the name and it finds a version and saves it.
Shop where the vegetables are good. Your assistant builds the list minus what's in your pantry and can fill the cart at that store; you approve.
HelloFresh menus are picked by one account holder. Agent Chef sends each member a personal link; five votes each, top three win, comments visible to the house.

Add https://agentchef.net/mcp as an MCP server, then run Agent Chef. Click Allow once.I'm moving our HelloFresh favorites into Agent Chef. If you have a browser tool: open https://www.hellofresh.com and wait for me to sign in. Open my Favorites (hellofresh.com/recipes/favorites) and my past deliveries, and collect the links of the recipes we loved (they look like hellofresh.com/recipes/<name>-<id>). Import them all with import_recipes marked as favorites; HelloFresh recipe pages import with photo, ingredients and steps. If one won't import, read it and save it with create_recipe. If you can't browse, ask me for the names or links of the meals we loved and do the same with those. When you're done, list what you saved and what you skipped.
Published 2026 pricing runs $9.99 to $12.49 per serving depending on plan size, plus $10.99 shipping per box. Larger family plans bring the per-serving price down to about $7.49.
Your assistant proposes recipes from real cooking sites in the same style: 30 to 45 minutes, clear steps, family-friendly. Tell it your favorites by name and it finds and saves versions of them.
You lose the box on the porch. You keep the part that saves the mental effort: someone else proposes dinner, the house votes, and the shopping list is done. Your assistant can fill the cart at your store.
You need an AI assistant that can connect to an MCP server: Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Code), ChatGPT or Codex, Cursor, and others. Agent Chef has no AI inside; your assistant proposes the recipes and Agent Chef runs the vote, the pantry and the list.
No. It builds the list, and your assistant can fill the cart at your store, but checkout always waits for a human yes. Agent Chef never charges you for food.
Free during early access. Nothing to import, so switching takes an evening.
