Blue Apron and Marley Spoon boxes are arriving late or with missing ingredients after their fulfillment company, FreshRealm, went into Chapter 11. Keep the part that worked, someone else picking dinner, and let your usual grocery store move the food.
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor… checks in once or twice a day, asks Agent Chef what's due, writes the recipes, sends the messages, fills the cart.
Remembers everything: preferences, pantry, ballots, votes, feedback, ratings, orders. Decides what happens next. Serves the vote pages.
Each person gets a personal link. No app, no account: tap, vote for five, add a comment, rate last week's dinner.
The thing meal kits got right was removing the decision. Your assistant proposes ten recipes a week that fit your preferences; the household votes; the top three are dinner.
Whole Foods, Walmart, Kroger, Instacart: delivery is solved and priced in. Your assistant can fill the cart; you approve checkout.
Meal kits charge $10 to $13 a serving to cover picking, packing and cold shipping. Agent Chef is a few dollars a month per household; the groceries cost what groceries cost.

Add https://agentchef.net/mcp as an MCP server, then run Agent Chef. Click Allow once.I'm moving our favorite meal-kit recipes into Agent Chef. If you have a browser tool: open my account (Blue Apron: blueapron.com, then Delivery History. Marley Spoon: marleyspoon.com, then Orders and Past boxes) and wait for me to sign in. Open each recipe we loved. These sites block automatic import, so read each recipe card in the browser and save it with create_recipe: title, every ingredient with quantity, the steps, servings, the photo URL and the page link, marked as a favorite. If you can't browse, ask me for the names of the meals we loved and find a real recipe for each on a well-known recipe site instead. When you're done, list what you saved and what you skipped.
Not as far as has been announced. Its fulfillment partner FreshRealm filed for Chapter 11 in April 2026 and Blue Apron is moving operations to a new fulfillment company. Service disruptions were widely reported over the summer.
Your assistant can fill the online cart at your store from the list, following your brand and substitution preferences, and stop before checkout for your approval. Or take the list to the store yourself.
That's the one thing you lose. In exchange you get normal grocery quantities, so you stop paying $10 a serving and stop throwing away single-use packaging.
You need an AI assistant that can connect to an MCP server: Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Code), ChatGPT or Codex, Cursor, and others. Agent Chef has no AI inside; your assistant proposes the recipes and Agent Chef runs the vote, the pantry and the list.
No. It builds the list, and your assistant can fill the cart at your store, but checkout always waits for a human yes. Agent Chef never charges you for food.
Free during early access. Nothing to import, so switching takes an evening.
