Every week, from the editor you already have open

Dinner, planned in Cursor, chosen by your family.

You already have an agent open all day. Agent Chef is an MCP server with 37 tools: it holds the household's preferences, pantry, ballots and ratings, and tells your agent what's due. One-click install from the Cursor directory, then say "Run Agent Chef."

ClaudeCursor

Your agent

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor… checks in once or twice a day, asks Agent Chef what's due, writes the recipes, sends the messages, fills the cart.

Agent Chef

Remembers everything: preferences, pantry, ballots, votes, feedback, ratings, orders. Decides what happens next. Serves the vote pages.

Your household

Each person gets a personal link. No app, no account: tap, vote for five, add a comment, rate last week's dinner.

Cursor picks. The house votes.

Ten real recipes with photos go out each week. Everyone picks five from their phone, no app, no account. The top three are dinner.

Memory that outlives the chat

Preferences, favorites, what won, how it was rated, what's in the pantry. Cursor reads all of it before proposing, so week twelve is better than week one.

A checklist, not a prompt

Each time Cursor checks in, Agent Chef says what's due: propose, send, remind, lock in, shop. Nothing is sent twice. A missed day is picked up next time.

Connect Cursor in two minutes

  1. Install from the Cursor MCP directory (search Agent Chef), or add https://agentchef.net/mcp in Cursor Settings → MCP with your API key from Settings → Agents.
  2. Or paste this into Cursor's agent:
Add https://agentchef.net/mcp as an MCP server, then run Agent Chef.
  3. Then say "Run Agent Chef." and let it work through the checklist.

Cursor doesn't schedule itself, so either run it when you sit down on plan day or let a scheduled Claude or ChatGPT do the recurring runs; every agent sees the same household state.

The ballot page with ten recipe cards
What the household sees: the ballot, on a phone, no login.
The connect page: one sentence to paste into your agent
What you see once: one sentence to paste into Cursor.

Questions

Why would I plan dinner from a code editor?

Because the agent is already there and it's good at exactly this: read preferences, search recipe sites, call tools, report back. Agent Chef makes the result usable by the rest of the household, who vote from a phone link and never see Cursor.

What's in the MCP server?

37 tools with annotations and output schemas: run_agent_chef and next_actions for the loop, preferences, members, pantry, a recipe library with import from any URL, the weekly ballot and votes, feedback, the shopping list, and connected-agent management.

Is there an API key option?

Yes. Settings → Agents creates a key; use it as a bearer token or with the stdio package (npx -y agent-chef-mcp). OAuth is also supported for clients that prefer it.
